A little trouble in paradise...

Over the last couple of weeks our plans to establish a student chapter of Dressed in Hope on campus have experienced some hardships. It is easy to imagine the registration process as fast and hassle-free for the most part, but we quickly learned that was not the case.

To begin, we are required to have a faculty adviser who is willing to donate their valuable time to meet with us and work with our group. We examined a list of possible picks for the position, but there was no one who could take the position this semester. After reviewing a list of faculty members, we also discovered the length of time required to set up a student organization. A minimum of 6 months is required and we simply couldn't afford to take that long to start sharing our organization.

We had to take matters into our own hands and determine possible resolutions for the issues we had encounter. We decided to turn in an application to begin the 6-month period of approval, and while doing so we used the time to search for faculty advisers who would be willing to take the position in the Spring. We weren't going to let any obstacle keep us from achieving our goals or sharing our cause.

For the past 5 weeks we have hosted 2 events within the Leadership program, held 1 tabling session, and planned the future of the organization as the end of the year quickly approaches. We are very proud of the amount of work we have been able to accomplish in such short amount of time.

We would like to leave you with a special quote by the female leader, Eleanor Roosevelt.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"
